Dan Moses, born Daniel Moses Schlessinger, is a multi-instrumentalist from Berkeley, CA. A jack of several trades, Dan has three degrees in three different subjects. He got his Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from U.C. Berkeley before moving to Boston to earn a Masters degree in Jazz Saxophone at New England Conservatory of Music. After playing jazz in Brooklyn for nearly 7 years, Dan moved back to the San Francisco Bay Area where he just finished a second Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (with a focus in audio technology).

Over the last few years, Dan has shifted his compositional focus from jazz to rock, drawing influences from Carole King, Stevie Wonder, Paul Simon, Dr. John, and Chico Buarque as he penned his debut album, Sailors Gone.

Dan also invents new musical instruments, which are a combination of electrical and acoustical elements. His most recent invention is called the Kalichord, which can best be discribed as the collision of an accordion with an autoharp. You can read more about the Kalichord here.

Dan currently lives in San Francisco, CA with his wife, Kate. You can check out Kate's music here.
